I first met Katie through High School. We both went to Cambridge our entire lives, and her sister Kristen graduated with me. We knew of each other, but weren’t close friends. When Katie reached out to me about wedding photos, I was so excited! Not only is she absolutely beautiful, she’s the absolute sweetest lady you’ll ever meet! I was introduced to Lucas at our first meeting and knew right away he was the perfect man for Katie. They compliment each other in so many ways. They’re both constantly smiling and lighthearted in conversation. I was so happy that Katie found Lucas – they truly deserve each other.
When I arrived at Katie and Lucas’s wedding day, I was NOT disappointed. Their ceremony took place at Pine Lakes Lodge in Salesville, Ohio. I’ve seen the venue before but have never shot a wedding there – so I was extremely happy to have the opportunity. Katie and Lucas did such an amazing job from the gorgeous fall decor, to the food choices (I’m a sucker for BBQ! 😛 ). They had the most beautiful and unique ceremony on a deck overlooking the rolling hills mixed with greenery and the slightest hint of fall. During the ceremony, it did start to rain.. but no worries – Katie, Lucas, and their entire bridal party embraced the rain like champs and did NOT let it ruin the most important moment of their lives!
After the ceremony, we headed to the Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center in Cambridge, Ohio for the reception. Katie + Lucas spent the evening celebrating with those closest to them, dancing the night away! I loved how upbeat and downright FUN their bridal party and guests were. I kept catching myself singing along and dancing while taking photos.
I am so honored to have witnessed these two make the ultimate commitment to one another. They are one of the most amazing and selfless couples i’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. I can’t wait for you to see some of their images!
